The Kittyhawk team was proud to attend the 13th International Conference on Hot Isostatic Pressing to do our part in moving the industry forward. Hosted in Columbus, Ohio and dedicated solely to HIP science and technology—the HIP’22 conference invited a range of experts and industry professionals to gather in order to exchange ideas, present developments, and educate others. A celebration of Hot Isostatic Pressing hosted in the city where the technology was originally invented.

Hot Isostatic Pressing is an important sector of the materials and manufacturing industry. Since the invention of the process, there has been a consistent evolution of development throughout decades. Today, HIP technology is applied in many industry sectors including advanced materials manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, defense, oil and gas, firearms, and medical. It is a critical element of many manufacturing processes.

Kittyhawk was founded in 1981 to provide Hot Isostatic Pressing services to a growing number of critical industries. More than forty years later, HIP is still our speciality and our team has grown over generations into a large-scale operation across multiple facilities. Our services support the production of complex, high-density, and low-porosity parts for a wide variety of customers.

As new technologies and manufacturing methods continue to advance the demand for Hot Isostatic Pressing, Kittyhawk will continue to collaborate with industry leaders at events like HIP’22 to develop the best services possible and meet the growing needs of our valued customers.

The International HIP Committee promotes and encourages the international advancement of Hot Isostatic Pressing science and technology. This year their conference featured more than 60 presentations and a Best PM HIP’d Part Contest. You can visit their website to learn more.
